He is ranked among the top 15 global researchers in economics (REPEC) with 47 articles and over 1,500 citations (Google Scholar). His research focuses on issues related to remittances, economic inequality, and gender inequality. His work has been published in leading international journals such as Economic Development and Cultural Change, the Journal of Agricultural Economics, World Development, and the Journal of Development Studies. Seven doctoral students have successfully defended their dissertations under his supervision.
