Farid Makhlouf is an associate professorof economics andeconometrics at the Pau Business School and a research associate at TREE, UMR 6031, University of Pau, France. He specializes in the empirical study of remittances. His work focuses primarily on how migrants respond, through their remittances, to shocks affecting both their home country and their host country. The author holds a Ph.D. (with distinction) in economics from the University of Pau. In addition, Mr. Makhlouf advises doctoral and master’s students in economics, and his teaching experience includes various courses in macroeconomics, statistics, and econometrics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The author’s work has been published in Research in International Business and Finance, International Review of Applied Economics, Journal of Economic Development, The World Economy, Empirical Economics, and Journal of Energy and Development, among others.
