Visa approval
As soon as you arrive in France, you MUST validate your visa on the website
administration-of-foreign-nationals-in-france.interieur.gouv.fr
This quick and easy process ensures you can stay in France on a regular basis to carry out
your relocation plans.
To do this, you will need:
a valid email address
the information listed on your visa
your date of entry into France
your residential address in France
a credit card to pay the residence permit issuance fee online
This simple procedure is mandatory, and it is your responsibility to complete it within
3
months. If you fail to do so, you will no longer be able to cross the border of the
Schengen
area or apply for a residence permit the following year to continue your studies at ESC PAU BS.
Keep a copy of the confirmation of approval. You will be asked for it later.
Bank account, cell phone plan
Opening a bank account in France will make your daily life easier, especially when it comes to
paying
your bills (electricity, phone, rent), covering most of your expenses, receiving
reimbursements for your healthcare costs, and avoiding the need to carry large amounts
of
cash.
In addition, using your bank account information (RIB), you can easily set up
direct debits
for your various subscriptions.
When you arrive in Pau, you can open an account at any bank by
making an appointment. Compare the different offers. Consider the costs of the ATM card,
account
maintenance fees, and transfer fees...
For your peace of mind, ESC PAU BS will help you open a bank account
with one of our partner banks as soon as you arrive. Depending on the partner you choose, you can also sign up for
insurance or a cell phone plan.
Administrative Registration at ESC PAU BS
To complete your registration at the school, you must provide us with the following:
1. Proof of payment of the CVEC
This is the Student and Campus Fee. It costs €100, and payment is
required.
Established in March 2018, it is designed to improve students’ lives, provide a warmer welcome,
offer social, health, and cultural support, and fund
specific initiatives. You must pay online as soon as you receive your visa (or in cash
by
visiting a French post office upon your arrival).
In any case:
First, register on the website messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr
Then log in to the dedicated website cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr
Search for department 64 for ESC PAU BS and click on “I don’t have an INE number.”
2/ Proof of liability insurance
If your application is incomplete, we will not be able to issue you the
enrollment certificate required to complete certain procedures, nor grant you access to classes.
Health
Social Security provides you with health coverage during your studies
in
France. To increase the amount of your healthcare reimbursements, you must
enroll
in supplemental health insurance or a mutual insurance plan.
1/ Health insurance
Enrollment in the general health insurance system is free and mandatory. You
must
complete this process as soon as you enroll in school to be reimbursed for a
portion
of your healthcare costs (around 65%). Simply register online by
logging in
to etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr
You can then track your reimbursements and access a wealth of information by
creating an account on ameli.fr.
2/ Supplementary health insurance (mutuelle)
We strongly recommend that you choose supplementary health insurance to cover
nearly
all of your expenses, particularly in the event of hospitalization. This coverage is
optional but can be very useful. Without it, the costs you’ll have to
pay
out of pocket can be high.
Contact a student health insurance provider or another organization and request a quote
tailored to your needs.
