A key question: Can we still defy the odds in sports?

Is elite sports still a matter of instinct… or is it becoming a field dominated by data? At a time when every performance is measured, analyzed, and optimized, one question stands out: can we still escape the realm of probability?

With this issue in mind, Éklore is hosting a roundtable discussion open to the general public on Tuesday, May 20, at 6:00 p.m. on its Pau campus.

Titled “Can We Defy the Odds in Sports? Data, Organization, and Regional Impact”, this event will bring together three renowned figures from the world of professional sports.

Three special guests from the world of professional sports

  • Audrey Sauret, former international basketball player and general manager of Élan Béarnais

  • Édouard Cissé, former professional soccer player and consultant

  • Thomas Lièvremont, former professional rugby player and sports executive

Their combined perspectives will shed light on the profound changes currently taking place in the sports ecosystem: the growing importance of data, the transformation of organizational models, and the increasing impact of sports on local communities.

Data, organizations, regions: a sport in transition

Beyond performance metrics and statistics, this roundtable aims to address some fundamental questions:
Does data replace intuition, or does it complement it?
Are sports organizations ready for these changes?
And who really benefits from performance today?

A debate rooted in the Pau region

Hosted by entrepreneur Alexis Gallice, this event is part of éklore’s “Sport Management & Regions” Circle, a forum for discussion that brings together researchers, professionals, and local stakeholders to address the major transformations taking place in the world of sports.

An open forum for the general public and local stakeholders
