As part of their duties, bicycle sales technicians advise customers on the technical aspects of the product line, perform tasks related to the preparation, customization, maintenance, and repair of these products in the context of sales, rentals, or after-sales service, and assist with ordering—particularly for accessories—as well as withsales promotions and point-of-sale management within their area of expertise.
The role of a bicycle sales technician revolves around two main areas of responsibility that require specific skills not typically found in other industries:
Selling and renting bicycles, accessories, and related equipment, and assisting with sales promotions and the management of the sales floor.
Performing cycle preparation and maintenance tasks

Contribute to business growth by selling and renting all types of bicycles and other sustainable mobility vehicles, as well as related accessories and equipment, and by helping to promote and manage the sales floor
Manage customer relationships by providing personalized service and a tailored approach to each customer, including, where necessary, an adapted approach to understand or be understood by customers with disabilities, within an environment dedicated to the sale of bicycles and other non-motorized mobility devices, in order to understand their expectations and their omnichannel journey, and, where applicable, identify their athletic profile in order to provide sales support tailored to their specific activity.
Assist customers throughout the purchasing process by tailoring the approach to their customer journey, profile, and fitness goals, in order to recommend and complete the sale of new or used bicycles or other modes of sustainable transportation, as well as accessories and equipment suited to their body type and athletic activities—and, where applicable, their physical disabilities.
Provide rental services for bicycles, other non-motorized mobility devices, accessories, and equipment by offering products tailored to the customer’s body type, intended use, and sporting activities—and, where applicable, their physical disability—while providing guidance to ensure the equipment is used properly and safely.
Process product returns and customer complaints regarding defects or malfunctions in bicycles, e-bikes, accessories, and equipment in accordance with established procedures to provide a solution that is appropriate and compliant with commercial obligations.
Purchase all types of used bicycles or other non-motorized vehicles from customers in compliance with regulatory traceability requirements, with the aim of reselling them after refurbishment to generate profit margins in line with established business objectives.
Help manage customer engagement through in-store promotional activities, social media campaigns, or sporting events to promote bicycles and other sustainable mobility vehicles, accessories, and equipment, as well as the brand’s offerings, by sharing technical expertise through discussions about customers’ practices and/or usage patterns.
Help manage the sales floor dedicated to bicycles, e-bikes, accessories, and equipment to make it appealing to customers by staging the product display in accordance with the store’s established merchandising plan and in line with the store’s sports and leisure theme and spirit
Perform maintenance and servicing on all types of bicycles and other non-motorized vehicles
Help organize the bicycle and non-motorized mobility equipment maintenance workshop and its technical areas so that they are ready for assembly, maintenance, and repair work, in compliance with current health, safety, and environmental standards.
Assemble and adjust all types of bicycles and other non-motorized vehicles using pre-prepared and pre-assembled components, adapting them as needed to the customer’s physical disability, in accordance with the manufacturers’ technical documentation, in order to offer them for sale or rent.
Handle post-sale or post-rental customer requests (maintenance, repairs) in accordance with internal after-sales service procedures, in order to inform and advise customers on the maintenance required to restore their bicycles or other non-motorized mobility devices to proper working order.
Perform maintenance and repair work on all types of bicycles and other non-motorized vehicles by replacing mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical components or by repairing their parts to restore them to proper working order, in accordance with manufacturers’ technical recommendations and applicable safety standards.
Follow internal procedures for waste management, handling of fluids, and storage of batteries for bicycles and other non-motorized vehicles, in compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols, in order to minimize the environmental impact of operations and ensure the protection of people and the environment.
Return customers’ repaired bicycles or other soft mobility vehicles to them, explaining the invoice so they understand the work performed, and advising them on the use and maintenance of their bicycles or other soft mobility vehicles and accessories based on frequency of use, riding style, and athletic goals

Block 1
1– A simulated scenario followed by an oral exam:
Provide personalized service to a customer
Provide advice and handle the sale and rental of bicycles for customers
Handle a typical situation involving customer dissatisfaction and offer solutions.
2– Case study.
Block 2
1- Assembly, adjustment, and preparation of sports equipment for sale. Simulated scenario + oral interview with the candidate.
2- Handling an after-sales request, repairing defective equipment, and returning it to the customer. Simulated scenario + oral interview with the candidate.
